More showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for today. We have a chance of showers and thunderstorms both today and tonight with a high today of 86 and a low tonight of 72. The National Weather Service in St. Louis adds isolated strong to severe storms will be possible for this afternoon and early this evening, with the primary threat being strong gusty winds. The NWS also adds there is increased potential for new or worsening flooding for much of the upcoming week due to the additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall forecast thru Tuesday—and possibly more rainfall after that. Most of Fayette County did see a storm roll thru around the 11 pm hour last night, bringing a brief period of heavy rain–but the storm did not reach any severe levels.
