Usually farmers are looking for good, healthy rains to help out their crops—-just not five inches in the matter of hours like what the area on Sunday night and early Monday morning. Ken Cripe, switching hats from the Kaskaskia Levee District to his role as President of the Fayette County Farm Bureau, says the flooding could certainly lead to some re-planting for some area farmers.
But, Cripe says there is certainly still time to the get the crops in and come out OK for the year.
Thunderstorms are in the forecast for the next five days.
