(Belleville, IL) — The Illinois General Assembly comes back to Springfield this week for more overtime on the budget. Governor Rauner is in Belleville today to talk about his proposed pro-business, anti-union changes such as reform of workers’ compensation and the end of prevailing wage requirements. He has insisted he will not consider any new revenue to balance the budget unless these and other items are passed by lawmakers, a stance that House Speaker Michael Madigan has labeled as extreme.
