James W. Plummer, 88, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at his home.
Services will be held 12:30 pm, Monday, June 8, 2015 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. with Military rites. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. He was born September 04, 1926, in East St. Louis, IL, the son of George & Viola Plummer. Jim married June Mae Sullivan in 1949, East St. Louis, IL, and later married Los Driver in 1961, she passed away 1981. Jim was employed with the American District Telegraph Security Company and later retired as the Colorado Regional Manager for over 15 years; affiliated with the Catholic Church; Masonic Lodge, Ainad Temple Shrine; and was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran, receiving the Bronze Star while serving on the USS Fletcher in the South Pacific Theater.
He is survived by: Son – James F. Plummer & Kathleen, Columbia, IL; Daughter- Janet Kaenrath & Jerry, Hebron, IN; 7 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Wife – Los (1981), Brother – Bernard Kelly, Sisters – Virginia Davis and Eileen Smith.
