Vandalia baseball dropped its opening game of the Greenville 2A Regional, falling at higher seeded Teutopolis, 4-1 on Monday. The Vandals were held to just five hits in the game that were scattered across seven innings. The Wooden Shoes broke up a scoreless 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third inning with three runs and added one more in the fourth for a 4-0 lead. The Vandals would not get their first and only run of the game on the scoreboard until the top of the sixth inning. With Reid Well on third base, Aiden Politte would single on a line drive to left field to drive in Well to cut it to 4-1 which would end up being the final score as the Shoes advance on to the Regional Semifinals against Flora. The Vandals season come to an end with a final record of 16-15.
