A Vandalia man is facing multiple felony charges in Fayette County Court. 45 year old Shane T. Hans is facing a total of 6 felony charges. Hans is charged with Unlawful Possession of a weapon by a felon for allegedly possessing a loaded Ruger 22 long pistol–that charge is a Class 2 Felony. Hans faces a pending felony charge of Methamphetamine Delivery for allegedly possession 307.43 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine with intent to deliver and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine—both of those charges are Class X Felonies. Hans also faces a charge of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by a Felon for allegedly possessing 2 baggies of 22 long pistol ammunition–that charge is a Class 3 Felony. Hans faces a charge of Armed Violence for the alleged possession of the weapon as a felon–and that charge is a Class 2 Felony. Hans also faces a charge of Criminal Fortification. The information on that charge says the defendant “maintained a residence on West Randolph Street in Vandalia in a fortified condition, knowing that such building was used for the trafficking storage with intent to deliver methamphetamine.” That charge is a Class 3 Felony.
Bond for Hans was set at $50,000 and he has posted bond. His next court day is set for June 22nd at 9 am.
