Cooler, wet weather slowed harvest progress a bit as we hear in the weekly crop report. Less than four days were suitable for fieldwork thanks to above average rainfall. Still, the fall harvest is ahead of last year says Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.
36 percent of the winter weather crop has been planted. Average statewide topsoil moisture is rate at 2 percent very short, 7 percent short, 78 percent adequate and 13 percent surplus.
