(Springfield, IL) — Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner says Medicaid expansion is still costing the state billions of dollars a year. The governor told the State Journal Register that former Governor Pat Quinn allowed over 600 thousand-people to join the state’s healthcare program. Now, Rauner said the program’s cost are exploding. The paper says the Medicaid expansion added over three billion-dollars to Illinois’ Medicaid program that already cost over 20 billion a year.
