For the first time in several years, the Vandalia School District has a balanced budget. The Vandalia School Board held a brief budget hearing before their regular meeting on Tuesday. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Garrison says she is very pleased they have a balanced budget.
The new funding formula from the state has supplied with the district with an additional $800,000 as of this time. In total, the budget is $14.629 million dollars.
In other business, the Vandalia School Board approved the corrected retirement date for VCHS Cook Donna Wright for June 30th of 2022 and approved the retirement date for VJHS Teacher Aide Cheryl Edwards for June 30th of 2022. The Vandalia School Board also approved the resignation and Separation Agreement between the district and District Business Manager Lori Meseke.
