(Girard, IL) — The manager of a central Illinois nursing home says a new law aimed at speeding-up Medicaid payments is coming too late for her. Pleasant Hill Village manager Maryann Walker told The State Journal-Register yesterday that the home in Girard will close September 1st. Walker says the home is still waiting on nearly two-and-a-half million-dollars in Medicaid payments. The governor signed a new law this summer that is supposed to put nursing homes and the other Medicaid providers at the top of the state’s to-be paid list.
