(Washington, DC) — The American League is celebrating an 8-6, 10-inning win over the National League in the MLB All-Star Game in D.C. Astros teammates Alex Bregman and George Springer hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the 10th to break a 5-all tie and put the AL in front for good. The teams combined for a record 10 home runs. Bregman was named MVP. Cubs’ second baseman Javy Baez and catcher Willson Contreras started for the NL squad. Baez had a single in three plate appearances and Contreras homered to put the NL on the board in the third inning. Yadier Molina was 0 for 1 in the game.
