(Quincy, IL) — The western Illinois coroner who came under fire earlier this spring for holding on to the remains until low income families paid is reportedly under investigation. “The Quincy Herald Whig” yesterday reported that both the Illinois State Police and the State’s Attorney Appellate Prosecutor ‘s office are looking into a “complaint” against Adams County Coroner Jim Keller. However, the paper does not say what the complaint focuses on. Earlier this month Keller announced that he will resign in July, but “The Whig” reports that Keller was locked out of his office on Friday and isn’t being allowed to handle the duties of his office.
