The City of Vandalia will have an Economic Development Director again starting on Monday. At a brief special meeting on Monday afternoon, the Vandalia City Council officially hired Amber Daulbaugh as the new Economic Development Director. Daulbaugh says she knows this is going to be quite a challenge, but she ready to tackle it.
Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman says he believe Daulbaugh may not have the experience, but she brings everything else to the table to take on this position.
Daulbaugh, who has been working as the Program Director at the YMCA of Fayette County, will be paid $55,000 per year. And, Mayor Gottman says there is an added incentive–that for any employer she would bring in that would bring 50 to 100 jobs to the community it would be worth an added $5,000. We will have much more on the hiring coming up tomorrow during NewsCenter.
