(Milwaukee, WI) — Yadier Molina homered twice to power the Cardinals past the Brewers 3-2 in Milwaukee. Molina launched a solo-shot in the second and the go-ahead two-run homer in the sixth. Miles Mikolas pitched into the seventh while giving up two runs to earn the win and Bud Norris locked down the save. The Cards snapped a three-game slide. Jesus Aguilar and Brad Miller drove in first inning Brewers runs.. Jeremy Jeffress surrendered Molina’s second homer in relief to take the loss. Milwaukee fell to 45-and-31.
(Cincinnati, OH) — Anthony DeSclafani pitched effectively into the seventh inning and hit a grand slam as the Reds crushed the Cubs 11-2 in Cincinnati. Joey Votto and Tucker Barnhart also homered and combined to drive in five Reds runs. Cincinnati has won six straight and nine-of-11 overall. Cubs starter Luke Farrell took the loss, failing it to make out of the third inning. Ben Zobrist and Willson Contreras homered for Chicago. The Cubs are on a three-game slide.
