(Springfield, IL) — Advocates for Illinois‘ shopkeepers say the Supreme Court is leveling the playing field for brick and mortar businesses in Illinois. The Illinois Retail Merchants Association’s Rob Karr yesterday applauded the Supreme Court’s ruling that states can collect taxes on online sales, even if the company isn’t located in that state. Karr says the decision will also help online shoppers, who are supposed to report their sales tax to the state.
