Governor Bruce Rauner is signing the state’s new budget into law, citing the hard work and bipartisan effort put into crafting the spending plan. The budget features pension buyout options for state workers, money towards building a new Veteran’s Home in Quincy and more money for schools says Governor Rauner.
Governor Rauner says he is particularly proud that the budget also includes a $5,000 adoption tax credit. He notes they will have to continue to work together to pay off the state’s backlog of bills and manage spending.
