Illinois House lawmakers are sending the Governor what they call a truly balanced and bipartisan state budget. The budget includes more money for all school districts, funding to address the Legionnaire’s outbreak at the Quincy Veterans Home and does not raise taxes. State Representative Tom Demmer says there’s also a new 25 million dollar college scholarship program called Aim High.
Additionally, the new budget offers pension buyout options and a 50 cent wage increase for caregivers who work primarily with the developmentally disabled.
