Illinois lawmakers have passed a compromise gun dealer regulation bill. The measure requires dealers to have their federal license certified with the state for a fee and to meet safety requirements such as training employees to spot illegal purchases. State Senator Don Harmon says it’s not a perfect bill.
The bill will have to be signed into law by Governor Rauner. He vetoed a previous, more restrictive version saying it was too burdensome.
