Illinois House Lawmakers are advancing a Lethal Order of Protection measure. The measure sets up a process for relatives or the Police to have someone’s guns temporarily locked up if that person is threatening violence against others or themselves. It is sponsored by State Representative Kathleen Willis.
Critics says this violates Second Amendment rights and that is should be left up to the family members to keep guns away from a dangerous loved one. The bill now moves on to the Illinois Senate.
