At 712 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Vandalia, moving east at 30 mph.
Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
this storm.
Locations impacted include…
Vandalia, St. Elmo, Brownstown, Wrights Corner, Shobonier, Avena, La
Clede, Shafter, St. Peter, Loogootee, St. James, St. Paul, Hagerstown
and Bayle City.
This includes Interstate 70 in Illinois between exits 61 and 76.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
