New gun regulations have passed the Illinois Senate—And, State Senator Kyle McCarter is not happy about it. Senator McCarter says the Illinois Gun Dealer Licensing Act approved by the Senate this week diminishes the 2nd Amendment. McCarter says new regulations and hundreds of dollars in new fees will only effect law abiding citizens—and that’s why he voted no.
Senator McCarter says the proposal is an attack on 2nd amendment rights. The 54th District Senator says he’d like to see a provision added to the measure guaranteeing it’s appeal if it fails to reduce gun crimes. The Senate vote on Senate Bill 337 was 35 to 18 and now goes to the Illinois House for consideration.
