The Vandalia School District is receiving the added funding under the new funding formula from the state for general state aid. But, some other funding is lagging behind. Vandalia Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Garrison told the Vandalia School Board at Tuesday’s meeting they have been receiving the new, added funding under general state aid–which will add up to a total of better than $534,000 in added funding. She says they have received better than $358,000 of that added funding so far and will get the remaining money in the next two payments. But, Dr. Garrison says they are still owed $192,000 in categorical money.
And, Dr. Garrison says she is hopeful that money will come in, as she will begin work on an amended budget soon.
In other business at Tuesday’s meeting, the Vandalia School Board did approve the lowest responsible bidder for one 71 passenger Type “C” 2019 bus from Central State Bus Sales at a cost of $82,876 payable during fiscal year 2019.
