Dale E. Sperry, 51, of St. Elmo, died at 8:10 a.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo with Dan Laack and Tom Fedrigon officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dale was born on Thursday, March 2, 1967 in Pekin, IL to Roger and Marjorie (Rhodes) Sperry. He married Kay Marie Shane on December 26, 1987 in Toluca, IL. He was the owner of Sperry’s Service in St. Elmo. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #533 and Ainad Shrine, East St. Louis Consistory.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Sperry, St. Elmo; sons, Cody (Skylar) Sperry, St. Elmo, Benjamin Sperry, Mt. Vernon, and Samuel Sperry, St. Elmo; parents, Roger and Marjorie Sperry, Brownstown; sisters, Robin (Bernie) Harrison, South Pekin and Amy (Ed) Stephens, Peoria; 3 grandchildren, Lydia Sperry, St. Elmo, Dawson Sperry, Mt. Vernon, and Mack Sperry, St. Elmo.
Dale was preceded in death by his grandparents.
