(St. Louis, MO) — Dexter Fowler’s two-run homer in the seventh inning proved to be the difference as the Cardinals held off the White Sox 3-2 at Busch Stadium. Starter Carlos Martinez hit a solo shot in the sixth for the Redbirds, who led 3-0 before Chicago scored two in the eighth to make it close. Martinez got his third win and Bud Norris his sixth save.

(Chicago, IL) — Yu Darvish was lit up for six runs, including three homers, in less than five innings as the Cubs were crushed 11-2 by the Rockies at Wrigley Field. Darvish is now 0-and-3. Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant went deep for Chicago, which lost two-of-three to Colorado after winning its previous five games. The Cubs are 16-and-12 overall.
