Governor Bruce Rauner’s office is unveiling a 3 part plan for dealing with the legionella outbreak at the Quincy Veterans Home. In the short term, Governor Rauner says they will continue to follow all safety protocols recommended by the CDC. But, then want to purchase a nearby vacant nursing home to house residents.
The long term goal is to build a new, state of the art facility on campus that will meet the needs of veterans today such as mental health issues.
