(Springfield IL) — Senators in Illinois want to allow people to swap their opioid prescriptions for a medical marijuana script. The Illinois Senate yesterday passed a plan that would allow people to get marijuana instead of opioid pain pills. State Senator Don Harmon says the plan is as much about relieving pain as it is about trying to fight the opioid epidemic in the state.
