For anyone battling cancer in their lives, either themselves or thru a friend or loved one, the gathering on Thursday night at the Vandalia Moose Lodge was absolutely an inspiration. The Fayette County Cancer Fund held their annual Survivors Dinner on Thursday evening, with a very large crowd on hand—and most of those in attendance being cancer survivors. The survivors in the room ranged from a 2 months survivor, to those that are 39 and 46 year cancer survivors.
As for the Fayette County Cancer Fund, the organization has handed out better than $24,000 in assistance since they formed in October of 2015, and they were able to provide better than $14,500 in assistance just last year. The Fayette County Cancer Fund is not affiliated with any national organization—which means all the money collected remains in the county for Fayette County Residents.
