The Illinois House has passed legislation that would streamline the time it takes to get a teaching degree, and help with the state’s teacher shortage. House Bill 4956 was approved on Wednesday out of the Illinois House. State Representative John Cavaletto explains the legislation.
Upon completion of the proposed program, a student shall receive a Bachelor’s Degree and qualify for entitlement for licensure. The bill now goes to the Illinois Senate for consideration.
