The additional state money under the funding formula is starting to roll into the Vandalia School District. At Tuesday’s meeting, Business Manager Lori Meseke said the first part of the additional $546,000 came in their latest state aid payment. She says they will receive the additional money over the 6 remaining payments of state aid for this year, thru June 30th. So, Meseke says the district got 1/6th of the new money (about $91,000) in their payment this past week.
Meanwhile, the Vandalia School District will utilize some restricted lease ley funds for new computers. The funds are from the Operations and Maintenance Fund and is a total of $64,875. Meseke says the money can only be used for lease of technology and they will use the funds for a very short time period lease of 20 computers. Meseke says they will replace 20 computers they got years back that were re-furbished from Scott Air Force Base. The board officially approved transferring the funds to the education fund for the lease.
