Floreine Elaine (Lotz) Lange, 86, of Vandalia, passed away at 6:45am, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at her home.
Services from Mrs. Lange will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church of Shobonier with visitation from 9:00-11:00am prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in the Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Radio Ministry or Donor’s Choice. Floreine Elaine (Lotz) Lange was born August 11, 1931 in St. Peter, IL, the daughter of Omar and Elenora (Holman) Lotz. She married Elmer George Lange on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1947 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church; he preceded in death February 17, 1981.
Floreine was a homemaker, raising her and George’s three children and helping on the family farm. She was later known for her smile and kindness at Hardee’s in Vandalia, where she was a hostess for many years. When Flo wasn’t spending time with her family you could find her in the mornings having coffee with the breakfast crowd at Willy’s Diner in Vandalia or cheering on her favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals. She was a member of Augsburg Immanuel Lutheran Church of Shobonier, Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aide, and she volunteered at the Senior Center/Golden Circle in Vandalia.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Lange and wife Lisa of Augsburg; daughter, Barbara and husband Joe Darnell; daughter-in-law, Nancy Lange; brother, Carroll “Doc” Lotz of St. Peter; grandchildren, Jeremy Lange and wife Angela, Jamie and husband Joel Saucier, and Katie Darnell; and great grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Jaxon, Piper, and Skyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Kenneth Lange
