(Springfield, IL) — A lot of 16 and 17-year-old’s in Illinois want to help save a life. Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White’s office yesterday said that over eleven thousand teens have taken advantage of a new law that allows them to sign-up for the state’s organ donation registry. The new law took effect in January. White says there are about 47 hundred people waiting for an organ donor, and about 300 people die each year because they don’t get one.
