(Miami, FL) — Miguel Rojas singled in the walk-off run in the bottom of the 17th inning as the Marlins escaped the Cubs 2-1 in Miami. As a unit, the Fish gave up eight hits and one run over 17 innings with 20 strikeouts. Reliever Jarlin Garcia fired six shutout innings of relief, and Odrisamer Despaigne came away with the win. The game lasted five hours and 18-minutes. Kris Bryant provided the offense for Chicago with a solo home run in the third. Starter Kyle Hendricks pitched six innings as the starter, and Eddie Butler took the loss after pitching seven frames of one-run ball in relief. The four game set is tied at one win each.
