Sentencing for a Vandalia woman who plead guilty to inuring her infant child is set for today in Fayette County Court. 25-year old Aubree Hammer will appear for a sentencing hearing at 9am this morning. Today’s court setting comes after the sentencing had previously been continued more than a handful of times due mostly to the defense trying to track down a doctor who had previously seen Hammer to determine the relevance of his testimony which was ultimately decided would not add any new information in the matter. Hammer entered an open plea of guilty back on October 3, 2017 to one count of aggravated battery to a child under the age of 13 with great bodily harm or permanent disability following the injuring of her at that time 3 ½ month old son in February 2016. The charge is a Class X Felony and it is punishable by 6-30 years in prison.
