(Quincy, IL) — Some Illinois farmers say they’re still looking at a plan to grow hemp in the state. Illinois lawmakers are looking at hemp as an alternative, cash crop to corn and beans. But Adams County Farm Bureau President Rick Edwards says alternative crops always seem to start off profitable, then run out of steam when farmers grow too much. Edwards says they’re still ‘evaluating’ the plan.
