Illinois weather was cold and dry last month. Statewide average precipitation for January, measuring the rain and water content for snow, came in at only 1.3 inches. That’s nearly an inch below normal say State Climatologist Jim Angel.
The statewide average temperature last month was 24.1 degrees—which is more than 2 degrees below normal.
