(Palatine, IL) — A judge is not going to allow a suburban Chicago transgender teen to freely walk around her high school’s girls’ locker room. The judge yesterday denied Nova Maday’s request to use the girls’ locker room at Palatine High School. The school currently allows Maday to change and shower in a private stall in the girls’ locker room, school officials said they applaud the decision to protect the balance of privacy for all 12 thousand students in their high schools. Maday’s legal team says they plan to appeal the ruling, they’re due back in court in early February.
