Governor Bruce Rauner is outlining a plan to help revamp the state’s property tax system. During this spring legislative session, Governor Rauner says he will push for a law banning legislators from making money on the side as a property tax appeals attorney.
Governor Rauner is also signing an executive order preventing lawmakers from arguing as a lawyer before the state property tax appeals board, and wants to see voters voice their input on local property taxes in a referendum.
