(Springfield, IL) — Inmates in Illinois prisons should have an easier time shrinking their sentence. Governor Rauner yesterday signed a new law aimed at expanding the credit for time served program. The law actually cleans up a law from last year that accidentally limited the program. The governor says the goal of the program to give some inmates a second chance at reentering society and becoming contributing members once again.
