(Springfield, IL) — There’s just some last minute detail work left to do on Illinois‘ high speed rail line. Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn yesterday said that the project is 95 percent complete. Illinois will end up paying about 300 million-dollars of the one-point-nine billion-dollar cost to allow the trains between Chicago and St. Louis to run a bit faster. Blankenhorn also said they’ll be more punctual. The goal is to only be late 15 percent of the time once the high speed rail work is finished.
