A Vandalia man faces a charge of criminal damage to government property as well as several traffic violations after he’s alleged to have crashed into a building belonging to the Fayette County Health Department on Sunday. 70-year old Bobby J. Forbis is charged with one count of criminal damage to government supported property resulting in damage over $500 but less than $10,000 after allegedly running into the west or 5th street side of the large shed owned by the health department. Forbis also faces two counts of DUI and various traffic violations including leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane usage, disobeying a stop sign and improper turn signal. Bond was set at $10,000 and Forbis posted that bond on Tuesday. Forbis will make a first appearance in Fayette County Court on the matters January 8 at 9am.
