Kaskaskia College President Dr. Penny Quinn is expected to hand in her letter of resignation before the college’s regular Monday meeting. WJBD Radio in Salem says a revised agenda for the meeting was issued early Tuesday night that included the acceptance of the President’s resignation and discussion and potential appointment of an interim President.WJBD Radio also reports that College Board Chairman Bill Hawley confirms Quinn plans to resign. He says the college will pay Quinn for the remainder of the time on her three-year contract that expires on June 30th. He reports there has been no discussion on the process that will be used to find a new permanent President for the college. Quinn’s resignation comes following a special closed session meeting of the board held last Monday to discuss personnel. The college board meets at 6:30 Monday night at the Lifelong Learning Center on the main college campus on Shattuc Road in rural Centralia.
