A Vandalia woman has been charged with twelve felony counts in Fayette County. 33-year old Crystal D. Anderson appeared in Fayette County Court on Friday and was advised of charges filed on October 24 which included two counts of unlawful delivery of methamphetamine less than 5 grams, both Class 2 felonies, and two counts of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, both Class 3 felonies. Bond in that case was set at $100,000. Anderson requested a public defender and was appointed Bill Starnes as her counsel. She is set to appear on that matter on November 21 at 11am.
On Friday, eight more counts were filed against Anderson. The additional charges include one count of unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony, unlawful possession of methamphetamine less than 5 grams, a Class 3 felony and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony. Anderson is also charged with two Class 3 felony counts of attempted escape from a peace officer, two Class 3 felony counts of bringing contraband into a penal institution for allegedly have bath salts and methamphetamine on her person as well as one count of obstruction of justice, a Class 4 felony, for allegedly concealing a controlled substance from an officer. Bond in that case was set at $200,000. Anderson is expected to be advised of the new charges on Monday in Fayette County Court.
