Illinois could be in store for a wet winter this year. The latest outlook from the National Weather Service indicates that most of the state has an increased chance of above average precipitation this winter says State Climatologist Jim Angel.
Angel says there’s a 55 to 65 percent chance of a La Nina event developing this winter. Although it’s expected to be short lived and pretty weak. A winter La Nina usually brings more precipitation and warmer temperatures to Illinois.
