Crop harvesting is plugging along as we hear in the weekly crop report. Cooler temperatures and much needed rain prevailed this past week. State Crop Statistician Brad Summa says 95 percent of corn is now mature.
63 percent of soybeans have been harvested, which is ahead of last year and the five year average. 51 percent of winter wheat has been planted and 13 percent has emerged. Average statewide topsoil moisture improved to 12 percent very short, 19 percent short, 56 percent adequate and 13 percent surplus.
