(Chicago, IL) — Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner owns a piece of an NFL team, but says he can’t support players who kneel during the national anthem. The governor yesterday issued a statement that says players who kneel are ‘disrespecting’ veterans and the flag itself. Rauner added that he cannot and will not ‘condone’ protests during the national anthem. The governor owns a part of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who didn’t take the field for Sunday’s national anthem.
