The Vandalia City Council approved one new Tax Increment Finance Agreement at its meeting on Monday night. A new TIF agreement with Dennis Grubaugh was approved for $82,400 for the removal of the building located across the street from City Hall to the west. After discussion of the TIF Agreement in the TIF meeting, the agreement was approved with a stipulation that the work be completed in 120 days. Once the building is torn down and removed, the area will at this point be turned into more public parking for the downtown area.
Also at the meeting, the council approved the purchase of a police squad car from Hosick Motors in Vandalia and approved the transfer of two lake lots.
