(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs scored seven times in the sixth inning and beat the Cardinals 8-2 at Wrigley Field. Trailing 2-1 entering the inning, Alex Avila’s RBI single tied the game and Jon Jay singled in the go-ahead run. Ian Happ added a two-run single in the uprising as Chicago stretched its winning streak to four games. Kris Bryant went 3-for-4 with a home run in the win. Starter John Lackey and catcher Willson Contreras were both ejected in the top of the fifth for arguing balls and strikes. Carl Edwards Jr. got the win in relief, while Carlos Martinez took the loss. Tommy Pham homered in the first for St. Louis.
