(Chicago, IL) — The Brewers piled up eight runs in the third inning as they mauled the Cubs, 15-2, in Chicago. Hernan Perez homered and drove in five runs for Milwaukee. Travis Shaw and Orlando Arcia each had two-run doubles to highlight the breakout eighth inning.
Cubs manager Joe Maddon says the played poorly in almost every facet of the game.
Chase Anderson pitched five shutout innings to earn the win. Mike Montgomery got chased after two-plus innings and took the loss for the Cubs. Kyle Schwarber put them on the board with a solo shot in the eighth. Chicago needs a win Sunday to prevent the sweep.
