Governor Bruce Rauner is signing historic school funding reform legislation into law. The overhaul of how the state distributes money to school districts around the state has been years in the making. The hope is that the new system will be more equitable to children across Illinois, no matter where they live.
The new law also eases some state mandates on schools regarding P.E. and Driver’s Ed, and creates a tax credit for donating to private school scholarship funds.
