Governor Bruce Rauner is signing a law designed to get more people to cast a ballot on Election Day in Illinois. Under the law, visitors to Secretary of State Driver’s License Facilities and other state agencies will automatically be registered to vote, unless they opt out. Governor Rauner applauds the measure.
The law will be phased in over the next two years.
